My Birthday Is Coming

My 亲爱的 said that she wants to celebrate my birthday this year. In fact, she has already bought a gift for me, something that I wouldn't be able to guess. Since I have no reason to go to Beijing, I asked her if we can meet in Shanghai instead. I can arrange a few meetings in Shanghai, and she could join me there. My 亲爱的 is quite a thrifty person, and she felt that it is a waste of money for her to do a round trip between Beijing and Shanghai, even though I offer to pay for it. I also suggested that we stay in a service apartment, so that she can cook for me on my birthday. I have not tried her cooking before, but she claimed that she's good in 四川菜. She has not decided yet, but will give me an answser soon. Meanwhile, she plans to do up her hair and buy new dresses before the day comes. I'm so excited to see her again.

包养 A Mistress

Happened to come across this post in an adult forum:

'I am an ABC, I work in the finance industry and I guess I spent at least 7 months a year in Beijing. I speak Mandarin fluently. I am in my late 40s. I am interested in finding out how to "包养" a mistress in Beijing, particularly a college girl type. A few of my Chinese business associates are definitely doing this but I don't know them well enough to ask. So any thoughts?'

In the olden days, concubines were status symbols in imperial China. China's economic boom has led to a revival of the Chinese tradition of keeping mistresses. It is natural that men like beautiful girls, as there is a Chinese saying 窈窕淑女 君子好逑. When there's demand, there is supply. The worship of materialism with the China girls has led them to look for guys who can provide them with a luxurious lifestyle, and it doesn't matter if there is love between them. My 亲爱的 has a friend from Si Chuan, Sue. She's very cute looking. Sue is 1 year younger than my 亲爱的 and she was brought up in the 农村. Her parents are farmers. At the age of 18, Sue was 包养 by a 老头, in his late fifties. She called him Godfather. Her godfather has rented an apartment in Chengdu and housed her there. Every morning, he would bring food to Sue, and relieve his sexual urge. Sue never love him, but because she was tired of hardship, she picked the easy way out. When they went out, they didn't hold hands, but she would walk behind him. Sue has stayed with the old man for two years, and during this period, he has supported Sue with several businesses, but none has succeeeded. Eventually she decided to leave him, after she found her true love, a guy in his twenties from a well-to-do family. However, this love story didn't last as his parents objected to the relationship as they felt that her family is too poor for their son. They broke off, and Sue was really hurt. Sue has moved to Beijing and is now staying with my 亲爱的. She's trying to forget the past and hopefully can find a new life in Beijing, and she won't rule out being 包养 again.

As Long As You Love Me

I've not heard this song from the Backstreet Boys for a long time, but today 亲爱的 asked me if I know this song. Perhaps the day of the boy band has passed, and most of the fans have grown up and moved on to Linkin Park, but the music of the Backstreet Boys is still very popular in China. For many, like me, their music was the soundtrack to a certain time in my life. My 亲爱的 said she wants me to sing this to her during our next KTV session. I better copy this into my Creative Zen.

Although loneliness has always been a friend of mine
I'm leaving my life in your hands
People say I'm crazy and that I am blind
Risking it all in a glance
And how you got me blind is still a mystery
I can't get you out of my head
Don't care what is written in your history
As long as you're here with me

Chorus:
I don't care who you are
Where you're from
What you did
As long as you love me
Who you are
Where you're from
Don't care what you did
As long as you love me

Every little thing that you have said and done
Feels like it's deep within me
Doesn't really matter if you're on the run
It seems like we're meant to be

Chorus

Bridge:
I've tried to hide it so that no one knows
But I guess it shows
When you look into my eyes
What you did and where you are comin' from
I don't care, as long as you love me, baby.

Chorus

Who you are
Where you're from
Don't care what you did
As long as you love me

斗地主

Since I came back from my Beijing trip last week, I have been hooked on to my computer plyaing 斗地主. This explained why I've not been updating my blog. The game was introduced by my 亲爱的 during my last trip there. She brought her laptop to my room, and literally spent her afternoon playing this game when I was out for meetings. 斗地主 is a very popular card game in China played by 3 persons. QQ game has made this an online game, and at any time, there are many thousands of Chinese playing this game. Wikipedia has a good writeup on the rules Dou Di Zhu

Since I started last week, I have been losing more than winning. Until now, I have accumulated about -1,000 points. This has been a hot topic during our daily phone calls. My 亲爱的 would asked me 今天又负了多少分, and followed by 你怎么这么笨啊, and I would reply 终于你有一样是比我厉害的, and she would giggle away. Honestly, who really cares about the points, as they cannot be used to exchange for free gifts. Afterall, It's only a game. My 亲爱的 is actually quite good in it, and has accumulated more than 200 points, while her friends have more than 1,000 points. The reason why I couldn't play as well is because I don't have a good memory and cannot remember the cards that have been thrown out. My brain has limited capacity and is used to remember important stuff like when is her period coming, when is my next trip to Beijing, etc. My 亲爱的 said that during my next trip to Beijing, she would buy some QQ dollars and help me to reset my score back to zero. I'm already looking forward to that.

Music and Feelings

I am a music lover, and love to use music to express my feelings. You can always tell my mood by the music I listen to, or the song I sing in KTV. I love singing, and sing well in KTV, especially after a few shots of brandy. My 亲爱的 knows that when I'm Beijing for business trips, I need to hang out in KTVs with my customers. Obviously the KTVs we go to are not Party World or Melody. The last time when I was in KTV with my customers, she sms'ed me at least 5 times and asked me when I would be going back. When I got back to the hotel, she interrogated me for an hour. For this trip, instead of going to KTV, I invited my customers to Yes Club, and asked my 亲爱的 to invite her 成都 friends to join us. Last night's clubbing session turned out really well. After her friends had a few drinks, they went really wild on the dance floor. Obviouly my customers get to enjoy the cheap thrills too. My 亲爱的 can dance really well, and she loves music too. Like me, she uses music to express her feelings. Recently she has been listening to 明天过后 by 张杰. In this song, her favourite part is the last four lines, which says:

是否爱上一个人不问明天过后
山明和水秀不比你有看头
牵着你的手一直走到最后
这一刻怎么回头
