Love or Lust

Sometimes, I asked myself if I really love my 亲爱的, or is it lust?

Why is it love?

Our relationship isn't a 'love at first sight'. Took us many months to realize that we are fated to be together.

I really care about her, and hope to be her guardian angel.

Absence make that heart grow fonder.

Her friends said that she is very 拽 (zhuai), but when she's with me, she is as tame as a kitten.

Why is it lust?

Is it possible for a 22 year old year girl to fall in love with a 39 year old man?

Everytime I see her, we made love until sore.

I feel young again when dating her.


Is it really important for me to know? Maybe not. As long as I can afford a long distance relationship, I wouldn't break up with her. We have come so far together, and I think we have crossed the point of no return. Maybe until one day when my 亲爱的 realizes that she needs to go back to 成都 to look for a lifetime partner, then both of us will take up the courage to 分手。

Although I am not in Beijing this week to celebrate Valentine's Day with my 亲爱的， we spoke on the phone during the day, and chatted on skype during the night. Who says we can't have romance over the internet? Took us 20 minutes just to hang up....

Fireworks

Letting off fireworks during Chinese New Year festive period is a long-held Chinese tradition based on the belief that the noise will ward off evil spirits and ghosts. Singapore does not allow fireworks since the early seventies, so as far as my childhood days are concerned, I have not played fireworks before. Fireworks are allowed in China during Chinese New Year, so on the night of 元宵, me and my 亲爱的 decided to join in the fun. There was a makeshift stall outside my hotel in Wang Jing, and after checking out the prices, we decided to buy the smallest piece that cost RMB 70. When I opened up the wrapper, I have to figure out where to start the fire as there was no instructions given. Luckily I got it right the first time. Meanwhile, the new Mandarin Oriental Hotel at downtown was burning, caused by fireworks.

Beijing Rocks!

The night life in Beijing is just fantastic. My usual hangout places are Suzie Wong, Block 8, Coco Bananas, Maggies, and not forgetting Yes Club. Yes Club, located at 三里屯南门 is catered for local 上班族, and it is a good place to make friends. This place operate like a dating agency and they also provide a website like the adult friend finder. Seldom you can find a foreigner in the club. There are 3 types of customers: girls hoping to expand their social circle, guys hoping to expand their social circle, and guys showing off their girlfriends. I belong to the third type. Last night, after I arrived Bejing at 9pm, me and my 亲爱的 decided to spend our Friday evening at Yes Club. By the time we got there, it was already 11pm but that is where the party began. After a few shots of whiskey, my 亲爱的 became a different person and started her sexually provocative stlye of dancing, with me of course. It was fun to see guys that are seated around us gave me the envious look. We partied until 2am and back to the hotel to make love.

A Family Affair

Last night I found out from my 亲爱的 that her entire family is aware that she has a 新加坡 boyfriend, and she's 郁闷 about it. What happened is that last month when I visited my 亲爱的， I borrowed her SIM card to make calls, and accidentally picked up a call that was made by her 表姐, also living in 成都. From my accent, she knows that I am not local. Anyway, her purpose of calling my 亲爱的 was to borrow money for Chinese New Year, and since my 亲爱的　is a 无业游民, she has a valid reason to turn her down. We all know that women cannot keep secret, so as expected, her　表姐　did a broadcast to the relatives about my presence, and so everyone knows about it. Anway, 亲爱的　made it very clear to her mum that she is matured enough to be responsible for herself, and there is no need to worry about her.

元宵节

元宵节 or Lantern Festival, falls in the 15th day of Chinese New Year. It is an indication that the celebration of the new year should come to an end. In Singapore you can hardly notice any celebrations going on, but in China it is an important festival. On the night of Yuan Xiao Jie there is an exhibition of lanterns and fireworks, and people will eat 汤圆 to denote union, harmony and happiness for the family. This day is also China's Valentine's Day. Since my 亲爱的 is a Chinese, I have to honour this special day by dating her. I'm going for a business trip to Hongkong this week, and once my meeting ends this Friday, I'm going to fly to Beijing to stay with my 亲爱的 for four days. Meanwhile, my 亲爱的 is checking out where we should hang out next Monday, which is 元宵节。
