My 亲爱的 today told me she's very 郁闷. What is 郁闷? For Singaporeans, when we say that we are very "sian", it has the same meaning. Well, 亲爱的 is staying with her aunt (mum's younger sister) in Beijing, while her parents are in Chengdu. Her aunt has a male friend from 山西,a rich businessman who often go to Beijing for business trips. She told me that "那个山西的刚才打电话给我,说明天就来看我,叫我不要乱抛,就在家里等他". Whenever he is in Beijing, he will insist that my 亲爱的 sees him. He behaves like he has 包 my 亲爱的 and gives her ¥2,000 to ¥3,000 as 生活费 everytime。Sometimes, he will also bring her out for shopping. Once he bought her some jewellry. My 亲爱的 didn't like the jewellry, but he insisted that she keep them. So my 亲爱的accepted the gift, but later brought them to the pawn shop and exchange for cash. This man literally used money to bribe her soul. However, since she's not the typical PRC girl, she didn't fall for this money trap. She is usually bo chap when he's around, but still, she accepts his money. She's not that stupid to reject that. 谁会跟钱过不去?However, her aunt felt otherwise. Her aunt said that 山西的 is so nice to her, and she should oblige and accept his love, so that she can make more from him then from work. By the way, 山西的 is also a married man.
Does money equate to love? Most men think so, especially married men. I know of some friends that regularly TT money to their PRC girlfriends. 亲爱的 also has friends that often ask ¥¥ and gifts from their Singapore 老公。I'm the lucky one. I found a special girl that doesn't ask for money. She only wants me to spend more time with her in Beijing, to call her whenever I am free, to respect her, and most importantly, to love her.
