We know that money makes the world go round, but in China, I learned that money also equates to love. No wonder Singapore men likes to shower their China girlfriends with money. The more money you give to her, the more she'll love you. I found out from my 亲爱的 that why her aunt and friends objected our relationship is because I didn't give her money everytime I see her in Beijing. They thought that it was stupid of her to continue this relationship as she won't get anything out of it. As a Singaporean, I'm a 进口货，and supposed to be better than a 土产, but there is also a lot of local Chinese businessmen that can afford to give money to their girlfrieds in exchange of love. They felt that she should get someone like that instead of dating a working class Singaporean. Anyway, I'm glad that my 亲爱的 didn't follow their advice because she really loves me for who I am, and I also love her for who she is. To shut their mouth this time, last week I bought a Christmas present for my 亲爱的- a pink Dell Inspiron laptop that cost me RMB 6,500. She always wanted a laptop as she disliked going to internet cafe because those places are sleezy. Since I came back to Singapore, we've been chatting over skype every night. I also bought some DVDs for her to improve her English. She promised that when I see her in Jan, she will be able converse with me in simple English. Let's see ......
